Gila Monster (Heloderma suspectrum) are one of two venomous species of lizards. They produce a paralyzing venom in special glands located within their lower jaw. Adults can consume large amounts of food at one time-up to 35% of their body weight. Found in the Sonoran and Mohave deserts of southwestern USA and northern Mexico.
