Northern Blue-tongued Skink (Tiliqua scincozdes)use their blue tongue for defense. When threatened by a predator they open their mouth and display their bright blue tongue and hiss. If grabbed, the skinks tail will break off. They live in the sand and mulch of tropical/savannah woodlands of Australia.
