I was looking forward to the WMSTR show this year. In previous years I filled my camera's CF card with: tractors, steam engines, static displays, and horse power threshing. Looking at
the map and the schedule I tried to spend more time on areas I've missed in years past. It dawned on me to make the people of the WMSTR the focus of my photography this year. So I used a longer lens during the parade and spent more time with the exhibitors. The fashion show was a perfect fit. I found it both interesting and entertaining. (Those photos have their own
gallery.) I was going to stay all day but high winds cancelled the spark show.
Gene Maas was kind enough to let me use some of his photos, as was Vic Teigen (9/2).
Photos with a DSC or DSCF prefix are mine. IMGP are from Gene's Pentax K-r. VT-IMG are from Vic's Canon SD1400.
I was joined by four of my mom's cousins:
- Gene Maas (Riverside, CA)
- Duane Maas (Bloomington, ND)
- Wayne Tees (Jamestown, ND)
- Jim Peterson (Milnor, ND)
I had a great time talking with exhibitors, hanging out with cousins, and photographing the sights. I can't wait until next year. I may have to go two days.
