5th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, "The Spittin' Kittens" active from 1960 Ð1988 (F-106 / F-15)and at the Minot (ND) AFB.
In the mid-1980s the 5th FIS converted to the F-15 Eagles. The F-15s only flew over Minot until the spring of 1988, when the 5th FIS was inactivated.
