Reeve's muntjac (Muntiacus reeves), are primarily crepuscular, active at dawn and dusk. When alarmed or in the presence of potential danger, muntjacs make a sharp barking sound, which is surprisingly loud and gives them their alternate name "barking deer". They are found widely in southeastern China (Gansu to Yunnan) and in Taiwan. They have also been introduced in the Netherlands, and Great Britain.
