At 24, British-born Jenny Agutter is one of the busiest and most experienced young actresses in Hollywood. Typed as an adolescent after playing a teenager abandoned in the Australian outback in "Walkabout" (1971), she graduated to the cheesecake level in last year's "Logan's Run," but in her role in the upcoming "Equus" she reverts to adolescence.
Trained at England's National Theatre, she has a three-movie option with M-G-M, but she's hardly nostalgic for stardom in the old sense.
"I can see how somebody could enjoy the buildup," she says,"but the loss of privacy and of one's identity in the manufacture-you can see how people could go mad." Often cast as a "good girl," she gets to shoot someone in the upcoming thriller, "The Eagle Has Landed."
"But I'm not bad," she complains, "Do you know if there are my evil parts around?"
