Lockheed C-130T 'Hercules' flown by the USMC performs a high-performance takeoff with Low Transition.
Known as "Fat Albert Airlines" it supports the USN Blue Angels. The Herc is flown by Major Stefan Mueller, Major Matt McGath, and Captain Russ Campbell.
Fat Albert cruises at 320 knots (approximately 350 miles per hour) at 27,000 feet. Four Allison turboprop-engines producing more than 16,000-shaft horsepower provide the C-130 with the power to land and depart on runways as short as 2,500 feet.
The Marine Corps pilots (three) flying the Transport/Cargo-130G Hercules aircraft (Fat Albert) must be aircraft commander qualified with at least 1,200 flight hours. The Blue Angels maintenance and support crew travels aboard Fat Albert.
