Dean Entzminger came back with "Gackle Diamond Jubilee" 1904-1979 History/Yearbook, "This will tell you every thing you want to know. $20." Suzanne was paging through it carefully. I thought the year (1979) was too new. I felt it was worth $5, maybe $10. I didn't feel like haggling. Dean's first hand history was worth $20. I wanted a souvenir. I had my heart set on a T-shirt, 'But this is so much better. Something I might actually use.' I bought it for $20 and chalked it up as a donation for his family and Gackle.
I told Dean that my mother worked for the Kriegers and attended movies all the time. He disappeared and came back with a brick, "I saved a dozen of these bricks when they tore it down." I could see the wheels turning in his head. But before he could name a price I asked, "Does it come with the book?" ha ha. He couldn't fight my logic and broke into a smile, "Sure." I asked him to hold on to it. "I'll be back for it. I don't want to carry it around." I already had Clare carrying the book.
