Dean Entzminger told me a former mayor got the idea (from another ND town) to paint it Orange and Black. I can't remember if that was before or after the Gackle Orioles chose them for their school colors. It dominates sky line and the colors are striking. The water tower is behind the Gackle City Hall. Karon thought the old Fire Station was there. (The book shows City Hall there in 1954.)
