The KC-135 'Stratotanker' comes to a stop and the cargo door to our left opens to a panoramic vista of mountains, palm trees and desert brown landscape. A deep breath brings in the dry desert air. We arenÕt in North Dakota anymore. The sky was clear and for the first time in weeks you could see the mountains through the smog - Or so they say.
