Built by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation (LAC) in Burbank, California. Constructors Number 4318. Delivered to the US Army during World War II, this aircraft remained in the United States. During 1945, assigned to Hancock Field School of Aeronautics at Santa Monica, CA and used as an instructional airframe. In 1954. placed into open storage at Lavern-Brackett Field, CA. Purchased by Jack P. Hardwick of El Monte CA. In December 1959, acquired by Edward Maloney / Planes of Fame Museum. Restored to airworthy condition by 1961 and placed on static disply 1962-1987. Further restoration was performed at Chino Airport. First flight July 22, 1988. Registered with the FAA as N38BP. Painted to represent F-5A "Joltin' Josie" 42-3314. [Pacific Wrecks]
