Here is the other side of the M42-->AF adapter, less its chrome, the epoxy putty is in place and attached to the aluminum retaining ring, seen here with the three screws that attach it to the lens. This sub-assembly can be rotated anywhere on the lens before the screws are tightened down. This is the time to align the red mounting marks so you lens ends right side up when mounted.
