The Wahpeton Buffalo Club was originated at the Driftwood Lounge in 1966 by Wendell Langendorfer and Herman Gagelin to help support the Buffalo display in Chahinkapa Park. WaryAnne's has served as the headquarters for the Club and has been a great supporter for many years. The Club has an annual meeting and has hosted several raffles in prior years to generated funds for the park.
The Club is non-profit. Membership was limited to 100, but was expanded in 1992 to 125 members due to the long list of people wanting to join. The main purpose of the Club is the propagation and preservation of the Buffalo displayed in our parks.
As of February 2001 the Club has donated $50,000 plus.
