White handed Gibbon - Hylobates Iar

Here at Chahinkapa Zoo, their main diet consists of fruit, vegetables and an important monkey chow that provides them with nutrients that they would get from the native flora of southeast Asia. They also get forage foods hidden in holes in their zoo trees and in the grass providing enhancement activities.
a basic gibbon social group is the family made up of one male and one female and their offspring. A single offspring is born every 2-3 years.

Fun Fact: Gibbons are so well coordinated and quick that they can even catch flying birds!
