Thanksgiving 2025
The surprise was Sioux City Root Beer. I broke into a big smile. Because this would be my only meal of the day, I loaded up my plate, and then went back for seconds. I was stuffed. There was no way I was having any dessert. But Sean was of the same mind, "Lets watch the game and then have dessert once we have room." The dinner conversation was nice, mostly about food and meals past. I complimented Sean on dinner, "It's the best I've ever had.. it's the root beer," laughing. Thanksgiving is not a favorite meal, so it's an easy bar to clear. He didn't have buns, so I couldn't make a sandwich. He made sure to use a white onion in the stuffing, so I had seconds of that. Because he smoked the turkey, he had to bake it in the oven. The bean casserole 'probably' had yellow onions, but it wasn't very good, so I only picked out the green beans and did not go for seconds. I used the cranberry sauce on the turkey- it wasn't needed. I couldn't taste the 'hot' peppers. It wasn't hot at all. The turkey was very good. I was a little concerned some of meat looked a little pink, but I stuck with the 'White' meat and it was fine. The gravy was a little thick and a little salty, but still very good with Idahoan instant potatoes. The Stoffers Mac'n'Cheese was good.
