Bathroom Tub Repair: I use my long knife to chip all the old adhesive off the soap dish and tile wall. I kept finding more and more glue to take off. I used my Dremel tool to clear even more, but mostly to score the surface. I vacuum the tub and floor. I washed everything and left it to dry. I cleaned off the soap off the underside of the soap dish. While I wait, I think, 'How will I clamp the dish to the wall?'
Soap Dish: I cut some 2x2 to 27.5 and 29-inches. I would use them to brace the soap dish to the tile wall. I cut open the Loctite All Purpose Adhesive Caulk. I covered the back of the soap dish with caulk. Once in place, I carefully filled the cracks and ran my finger to get the extra off. Then ran damp paper towels to get the film off. I noticed the dish looked slightly off. Thankfully I have a torpedo level in my Bonus Room tool bin. The caulk was still wet so I was able to level it. I think it looks pretty good. I'm glad I caught the level issue. I would have been annoyed if I left it until it was set.
