This F-16A 'Falcon' (Block 15K) 82-929 was delivered to the 16th TFTS, Hill AFB in July 28 1983. The 'Happy Hooligans' (178th FS)of the NDANG got in in June of 1990. On September 11, 2001 this aircraft was scrambled from Langley AFB, Virginia to give air cover over Washington DC. Lt. Col. Brad Derrig was at the controls. Flew out of Fargo, North Dakota on December 26, 2006 for McChord AFB, Washington to be put into a museum by Derrig.
This aircraft was placed on a pedestal adjacent to the Western Air Defense Sector HQ (Washington Air National Guard) at McChord AFB, Washington. The plane will be dedicated May 12, 2008 in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of North American Aerospace Defense Command. [F-16.net]
