The "Plantation", a large herb garden, was one of the labor units most feared by the prisoners. Mostly Jews, clergymen, Sinti and Roma and prisoners of penal companies used wheelbarrows like this one to cultivate the soil and carryout field work. Hard physical labor under all weather conditions, insufficient food and clothing, as well as constant harassment led to total exhaustion. -museum plaque
