Luther's birthplace (Luthers Geburtshaus), Eisleben, DE.
The furniture is from the restorer, Thomas Adalphi. He built this particular arrangement taking historic examples as a guide using tools just as one would have used in the 15th century. In this way, he kept to the exact techniques and froms of the late medieval era. This arrangement of furnishings concentrates on the most important items: a table and trun in the living room and the relatively short bed in the bedroom. The cradle reminds us of Martin's birth. There is a medieval engraving on a stippled background depicting the crucifixion of Christ. This along with the rosary, emphasize the piety of his family. -museum plaque
