Gibbons: Hands Up, Who Likes Me?

White handed Gibbon - Hylobates Iar

Gibbons are the smallest apes and the most acrobatic of all primates in the world. Their long arms and slender hands allow them to brachiate (swing) through the trees at top speeds making them the fastest of the primates.
Male and female gibbons look much alike weighting less than 17.5 pounds (8 kilograms). They spend most of their time high in the forest canopy occupying their time by foraging for food.
